    I attended shows in Oregon as a kid, but the first coin show I attended when I resumed collecting as an adult was the Long Beach Expo in June, 2000. A co-worker collected shipwreck coins and wanted to go to the show, but he didn't want to drive up there from San Diego by himself. He offered to buy me lunch if I went along with him, so of course I did. I mean.. who can pass up a free lunch? image I purchased a coin that day, but I don't recall what it was. I was hooked after that, and haven't missed a show in Long Beach since.
